The lifter (1) composed of a spiked roller (2) transfers the forage into a chute (3) fitted with an Archimedes screw (4). The lifter is connected to the forage chopper by means of a coupling (10) formed from two parts (10a,10b). The first coupling part is a horizontal tube fixed to the rear of the lifter under its forage outlet (5) and the second part is a frame having a lower horizontal branch engaged in the tube and able to slide transversely between two stops. The section of the tube has a greater height than that of the lower branch in order to allow relative pivoting between the lower branch and the tube.
