PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polysubstituted iminopyridine derivative or the like selectively and in a single step reaction. SOLUTION: The subject method for producing an iminopyridine derivative or pyridone derivative (Ia or Ib) comprises reaction between an azametallocyclopentene (II) and an alkyne (III) in the presence of a group 4-15 metal compound (in the formulas Ia, Ib, II and III, R1 and R2 are each H, a hydrocarbon group, alkoxy or the like, may be in a crosslinked state; R3 is a hydrocarbon group; A1 and A2 are each a halogen atom, hydrocarbon group, alkoxy or the like; B is a group of the formula =N-R4 or an oxygen atom(=O); R4 is a hydrocarbon group; M is a group 3-5 or lanthanide series metal; and L1 and L2 are each an anionic ligand). |
