PURPOSE: A running belt separation-preventing device on a treadmill is provided to improve its reliability and help a user to exercise safely by removing inclination of a running belt onto one side when walking or running toward or backward. CONSTITUTION: The running belt separation-preventing device includes a frame, a running belt(1) installed to be rotatable infinitely in the frame, and a driving unit to drive the running belt(1) toward both sides. The driving unit includes a driving motor(M), a front roller assembly(20) and a rear roller assembly(30) on which the running belt(1) is rolled, and a power-transferring unit to transfer the power from the driving motor to the front/rear roller assemblies(20,30). The power from the driving motor is transferred to one of the front/rear roller assemblies(20,30) by the power-transferring unit and the other includes one-way clutches(50,51) for a racing. The front roller and the rear roller are driven alternatively by the one-way clutches(50,51) according to the driving way of the running belt(1). Accordingly, a tension is generated in the lower part of the running belt, which helps that the belt is inclined to one side.
