PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable information device, realizing new handleability which has not been realized in a conventional technique by making devices having different functions to fuse together. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a projector unit for projecting an optical flux generated from an optical source unit via a projection lens as predetermined projection information; an image pattern forming unit for forming a predetermined pattern for projection, corresponding to the projection information; and an instructing means for giving an instruction so that only the power source of the light source unit becomes on state. That is, the device enables simple usage as a flashlight. Further, in this case, the image pattern forming unit is evacuated from an optical path, thereby directly and efficiently irradiating an object with an illumination light.
