Tire tread compsn. with good roll and improved wet-skid resistance are prepd. by mixing 40-60 parts 1-3:3-1 blend of polybutadiens (I) [vinyl content 65-90%, Mooney viscosity 20-100≦̸C) 20-100 and natural or isoprene rubber with 40-71 parts carbon black and adding sufficient rubber blend to adjust the carbon black concn. to 40-70 parts. Thus, mixing I(vinyl content 76%, Mooney viscosity 50.5) 25, isoprene rubber 25, HAF black 50, arom. oil 5, ZnO 3, stearic acid 2, and antioxidant 1 part, adding the same I 25, isoprene 25, S 1.6, and accelerator 1.4 part, and vulcanizing gives a tread stock.
