<p>PURPOSE:To convey a paper-like object without any damage and smoothly by means of only the adsorbing force on the peripheral surface and rotary force of a roll by providing guide plates, between which a part of the peripheral surface of a rotary roll to which electrostatic adsorbing force is provided, is interposed. CONSTITUTION:When the end of a paper-like object (a) comes in contact with or close to a paper 2a of a rotary roll 2 which is exposed between the opposite end parts of guide plates 3, 4, a sensor detects this, causing a DC power source to be connected to a group of electrodes of an electrostatic adsorbing plate which forms the peripheral surface of a rotary roll 2, making the plate electrostatically adsorbable. Thereby, as the rotary roll 2 rotates, the paper-like object (a) is gradually adsorbed from its front end side to the electrostatic adsorbing plate 22, and conveyed without being damaged. In this case, if slight curling may be generated on both side end parts of the paper-like object (a), the object (a) is being adsorbed to the electrostatic adsorbing plate in a complete close contact condition. Image information is written by means of an optical beam scanning device 5 into the paper-like object (a) which is being conveyed and, after that, when the rear end of the paper-like object (a) reached the rotary roll 2, the electrode plate is disconnected from the power source, reducing the adsorbing force.</p> |
