ATTENUATED STRAIN OF PLANT VIRUS AND PREPARATION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To obtain a stable attenuated strain (will not cause reverse mutation and not be restored to nonattenuated strain) by transducing a mutation site to a noncode range of genome RNA. CONSTITUTION:An attenuated strain useful for preventing a virus by utilizing cross protection wherein a plant infected with a certain virus is protected from secondary infection with a relative virus is obtained by transducing a mutation site to a noncode range of genome RNA. The noncode range is preferably a noncode range positioning 3' end port of genome RNA. Especially the noncode range existing at 3' end part of genome RNA is preferably a noncode range between transfer RNA-like structure part at 3' end part of genome RNA and code range of coded protein.
