1. An optical receiver, comprising:
a first set of components configured to operate upon a first set of sub-carriers, associated with an optical channel, to compensate for chromatic dispersion and/or polarization mode dispersion that occurs when transmitting an optical signal associated with the optical channel; and a second set of components configured to operate upon a second set of sub-carriers, associated with the optical channel, to compensate for chromatic dispersion and/or polarization mode dispersion that occurs when transmitting the optical signal associated with the optical channel, the optical channel including a plurality of sub-carriers, the plurality of sub-carriers including the first set of sub-carriers and the second set of sub-carriers, and a quantity of the plurality of sub-carriers being greater than four; wherein the receiver is configured to: demodulate the optical channel by frequency shifting the first set of sub-carriers based on the second multiplier, and demodulate the optical channel by frequency shifting the second set of sub-carriers based on the first multiplier. |
