To provide a fishing rod (1) having a flexible tip rod (12) less prone to breakage, and desired degrees of the flexibility and strength can be obtained at a required portion of the tip rod (1). A fishing rod (1) includes a tip rod (12) made of a fiber-reinforced resin material (60). The tip rod (12) is formed of a short-fiber reinforced resin material (60) in which short fibers (22) are dispersed in a matrix resin material (20), the average fiber diameter of the short fibers (22) is 3 to 15 µm, the average fiber length of the short fibers (22) is 0.5 to 10 mm, and the content of the short fibers (22) is 3 to 50 wt%, and a periphery of the short-fiber reinforced resin material (60) is at least partially covered with a prepreg sheet (62) in which reinforced fibers (22) are aligned and extended in one direction and impregnated with a synthetic resin (20). |
