The application relates to a kitchen utensil (100) comprising a handle (104) and spatula head (102) which may be converted or transformed between spoon and spatula configurations. The spatula head (102) includes a flexible jacket or membrane, that may be made of silicone rubber, which is supported by an outer frame (114, see Fig 1). Located within the handle is a hollow passage, housing a spine element (202). The flexible jacket has a rib (302) through which the spine element slides. The utensil takes a first position (see Figure 3A) when a button (206) is depressed, where the spine element is forced to bend and deform the spatula head into a concave condition for use as a spoon. In a second position (see Figure 2B) the button is not depressed and the spatula head has a flat shape. |
