A screw compressor has a machine housing 11 with a pair of screw rotors 14 mounted with. There is an oil supply system, via which the bearings 16, 17 and the seals 18 of the screw rotors can be supplied with lubricating/cooling oil. The oil supply system comprises an oil supply 19, oil feeds 20, a pressure sensor 23, and a control device 27. The pressure sensor detects a pressure in the oil return 21 or a pressure difference between the pressure in the oil return 21 and a pressure in the oil feeds 20, and the control device open or closed-loop controls the pressure in the oil feeds or the pressure difference depending on the sensor signal. The method relates to the open or closed-loop control of the pressure in the oil feed 20 or the pressure difference depending on the measured pressure or pressure difference. There is a further oil feed 22 which branches off the oil return 21 and feeds into the working space 15 of the of the screw compressor and the pressure sensor detects the pressure in the oil feed 22 or the pressure difference thereon. |
