PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input device in which a pointing stick and a touch pad cooperatively operate.SOLUTION: A pointing stick is arranged in a keyboard assembly, and a touch pad 100 is arranged in a palm rest. The touch pad operates in either a touch pad mode in which the touch pad operates independently of the pointing stick or a stick mode in which the touch pad operates cooperatively with the pointing stick. When the pointing stick is operated, the touch pad mode is shifted to the stick mode. In the stick mode, an input event equivalent to the click operation of a mouse button is generated in accordance with a touch operation to the touch pad. While a small power is added to the pointing stick, the touch pad is swiped such that a screen can be scrolled. |
