PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique enabling reduction of power consumption in a video display device and a multi-screen display device.SOLUTION: A video display device 100 includes: light source driving circuits 20, 22, and 24 for driving each of LEDs 21, 23, and 25 for light emission; a clip processing section 8 for performing clipping processing so as to lower video signals to a prescribed threshold Dth or less during the power-saving mode for reducing power consumption; a signal processing section 7 for amplifying a signal level of the video signals subjected to clipping processing by the clip processing section 8; and a control section 2 for controlling a driving current value of each of the LEDs 21, 23, and 25 supplied from the light source driving circuits 20, 22, and 24 so as to negate an increment of luminance of each of the LEDs 21, 23, and 25 corresponding to the amplified amount of the signal level of the video signals amplified by the signal processing section 7. |
