Disclosed is a method for preparing a titanium oxide derivative using a novel sulfuric acid process, wherein a titanium oxide derivative, such as metatitanic acid or titanium dioxide, a hydrate thereof, or material-chemically formable nanoparticles can be obtained with a desired size and surface area by adjusting the size or surface area of nanoparticle crystals or agglomerates through the control of pressure and temperature in steps of hydrolysis, and formation and treatment of titanium oxide derivative crystals or agglomerates. The present invention provides a method for preparing a titanium oxide derivative using a sulfuric acid process in which a solution of titanyl sulfate (TiOSO4) generated by dissolving ilmenite in sulfuric acid is subjected to hydrolysis and calcination to prepare a titanium oxide derivative, wherein the hydrolysis comprises a step for applying pressure compared with external atmospheric pressure. |
