PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable pitch propeller which has a simple structure, a small number of movable parts and components, and achieves easy maintenance, and in which efficiency can be improved by optimizing the planar shape of blades, flutter is hardly caused, and the elevation angle of blades can be always kept at an ideal value by eliminating the influence of the moment of inertia accompanied with the rotation of propellers.SOLUTION: In a variable pitch propeller 100, the elevation angle changing shaft 121 of each of plural blades 120 is rotatably connected to a propeller shaft 110, and the blade 120 is formed into a chord shape in which the rotational axis line is arranged at a position more forward than the position at one-fourth of the chord length of the blade 120, and a fixable counter weight 130 with which the direction in which the moment of inertia around the rotational axis line becomes maximum can be changed is mounted on the blade 120. |
