The present invention relates to a battery cell including an upper insulator and, more specifically, to a battery cell wherein an electrode assembly comprising an anode, a cathode, and a separation film installed between the cathode and the anode is installed in a cell case. The electrode assembly is a jelly-roll type electrode assembly with a structure in which an anode tap connected to an anode board and a cathode tap connected to a cathode board protrude to the upper side. The upper insulator which is electrically insulated is mounted on the upper end of the electrode assembly, and an adhering tape for fixing the upper insulator at a fixed position on the electrode assembly is attached at the upper end of the electrode assembly. A tap plate including an electrode terminal is connected to an open upper end of the cell case.
