PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a round billet rolling method that can improve the biting performance of a round billet at a first rolling part upstream of continuous rolling equipment by neither introducing another device nor generating a decrease in yield and an increase in man hour.SOLUTION: A first rolling stand S1 that is a first rolling stand upstream of continuous rolling equipment out of a plurality of rolling stands presses down round billets CB to be supplied in a vertical direction by oppositely arranging a pair of rolls 11A, 11B extending in a horizontal direction. Rolls 11A, 11B the first rolling stand S1 has is hole type roll to keep the profile of a groove 51 extending in a circumferential direction formed in its outer peripheral surface shaped in a circular arc fitting along the outer peripheral surface of the round billets CB. |
