A stereoscopic moving image of a subject is generated in real-time. Provided is a stereoscopic endoscope device (1) including a single objective lens (5) that collects light from a subject and forms an image of the light; a light splitting section (13) that splits the light collected by the objective lens (5); image-capturing devices (6, 7) that capture optical images of the subject at imaging positions of the split beams of the light; focal-position adjusting sections (11, 12) that give optical path lengths different from each other to the split beams of the light; a calculation section (14) that calculates an object distance between each point on the subject and the objective lens (5) from 2D images acquired by the image-capturing devices (6, 7); and a parallax-image generating section (15) that generates a plurality of viewpoint-images of the subject when observed from a plurality of viewpoints, by using the calculated object distance. |
