PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device capable of preventing one of an inner jacket and an outer jacket from coming off from the other after a vehicle collision, in a structure including the inner jacket and the outer jacket capable of relatively moving.SOLUTION: A steering device 1 includes: a column jacket 4 which can be expanded/contracting in an axial direction X by the relative movement in the axial direction X of an inner jacket 17 and an outer jacket 18 storing the inner jacket 17; a regulating member 40 which is fixed to the outer jacket 18, and inserted in an insertion hole 42 of the inner jacket 17; and an elastic member 41 which is fixed to the outer jacket 18. Upon a vehicle collision, when the regulating member 40 is sheared by a peripheral edge portion 17D of the insertion hole 42 in the inner jacket 17 with the relative movement of the inner jacket 17 and the outer jacket 18, a tip end portion 41A of the elastic member 41 is fitted in the insertion hole 42.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
