A buffer allocation method and device, and a network processor, the buffer allocation method comprising: dividing a buffer unit of a network processor into a fixed reserved buffer area and a dynamic shared buffer area; within the fixed reserved buffer area, respectively allocating a block of fixed buffer resources for each port of the network processor; if the actual flow of a port is greater than the fixed buffer resources allocated for the port, allocating dynamic buffer resources from the dynamic shared buffer area for the port. The present solution uses the buffer resources of the network processor in a more effective manner. |
