PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent malfunction at the time of image formation output that occurs due to the state of sheet feeding control of the sheets with preliminary feeding control of the sheets and prevent the fold of the tip of the sheet with the preliminary feeding control of the sheets.SOLUTION: A recording medium conveyance device comprises: a supply conveyance part which conveys a recording medium from a recording medium storage part to supply it; a conveyance assistance part which assists conveyance with the supply conveyance part by holding the recording medium with the supply conveyance part; a recording medium conveyance part which conveys the supplied recording medium to the further downstream side; and a conveyance control part which controls the conveyance operation with the supply conveyance part. The conveyance control part controls the supply conveyance part so as to convey a succeeding recording medium that is a recording medium supplied subsequently to the recording medium without an interval with the recording medium from the recording medium storage part, stops the conveyance operation by the supply conveyance part before the rear end of the recording medium with respect to the conveyance direction is held between the supply conveyance part and the conveyance assistance part during the conveyance operation of the recording medium by the recording medium conveyance part, and resumes the stopped conveyance operation at the prescribed timing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10 |
