PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve heat exchange between an exhaust current within an exhaust port and cooling water of a water jacket within a cylinder head and thus lower a temperature of the exhaust current.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine 1 includes: an exhaust port 4 connected to a combustion chamber 11; and a plasma actuator 3A arranged in a lower surface portion 4A of the exhaust port 4 so as to generate an air current flowing from the downstream side to the upstream side along the lower surface portion 4A. The air current generated by the plasma actuator 3A flows along the lower surface portion 4A opposing to an exhaust current 33A, and separates the exhaust current 33A from the lower surface portion 4A to divert the exhaust current upwards.
