The present invention relates to: a SNP marker for determining a level of muscular fiber type I in swine muscle; a composition for determining a level of muscular fiber type I in swine muscle, comprising the SNP marker; a kit for determining a level of muscular fiber type I in swine muscle, comprising the composition; a microarray; a method for determining a level of muscular fiber type I in swine muscle; and a method for manufacturing swine at the increased level of muscular fiber type I in muscle. The composition for determining a level of muscular fiber type I in swine muscle comprises a formulation, capable of detecting or amplifying a polynucleotide constituted of 5 to 1000 continuous bases having single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) or a complementary polynucleotide thereof. The SNP marker of the present invention can be used as a means for objectively evaluating a level of muscular fiber type I, which influences the meat quality in swine. |
