PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a development device in which leakage of a developer from both end sides of a development roller having a brush layer is suppressed.SOLUTION: A development cartridge 10 comprises: a brush roller 111 having a brush layer 111C; a retention part 113 disposed on a lower side of the brush roller 111, not in contact with the brush layer 111C and capable of retaining toner between the brush roller 111 and the retention part 113; a toner storage part 120 that stores toner to be supplied to the retention part 113; a blade 112 that is provided more downstream in the rotation direction of the brush roller 111 than a downstream end in the rotation direction of the retention part 113 and contacts with the brush layer 111C; and a contact part 114 that is provided adjacent to the outside of the retention part 113 in the axial direction of the brush roller 111 and contacts with the brush layer 111C on a lower side of the brush roller 111.
