The invention relates to an encoder an assembly for an encoder comprising: a main body (2), a pair of bearings (3a, 3b) arranged with respect to the axial direction in staggered manner, each of the bearings (3a, 3b) comprising an outer ring (31) and a rolling body (33), the outer ring (31) and the rolling body (33) are in contact at a contact point (331) and a rotary shaft (4). The main body (2) comprises a stress-relief groove (8) which is arranged in the circumferential direction around the bearings (3a, 3b) forming a predetermined gap (t) between the main body (2) and the bearings (3a, 3b). Furthermore a line (I) extending radially from the contact point (331) intersects the outer bearing surface at a point (333) where the gap (t) is located. (Figure. 1) |
