[Problem] To provide a windmill device for power generation such that wind hitting the windmill passes between blades without escaping to the outside even if the blades are closely arranged to each other, thereby improving the rotation efficiency of the windmill and allowing the windmill device to be suitably adopted for a practical power generation device. [Solution] A windmill device for power generation is provided with: a wind tunnel body (10) that has a wind tunnel passage (11) serving as a wind passage; and a windmill (20) that is rotatably supported inside the wind tunnel passage (11) of the wind tunnel body (10). The windmill (20) is configured from a hub (21) serving as the center of rotation, multiple spokes (22) that radially extend from the hub (21), a rim (23) that is disposed in a substantially annular shape so as to connect the outer ends of the multiple spokes (22), and multiple pieces of sail material (24) that are formed into a substantially triangular shape and each of which has on one side an open edge (24a) that is not supported by the spoke (22) or the rim (23). The ratio (S2/S1) of the wind-receiving area (S2) of the pieces of sail material (24) to the cross-sectional area (S1) of the wind tunnel passage (11) is set to 0.9 or greater. |
