The present invention relates to a system and a method for automatically detecting a mura defect using advanced Weber′s law. The system includes an image obtaining part which obtains an image of an object, an image processing part which converts the image obtained by the image obtaining part into an image of a gray level, and an image analyzing part which automatically extracts a stain defect of the object by applying Weber′s law to an image histogram of the image converted by the image processing part. Therefore, a high detection rate and high reliability can be achieved.
