A vibrator motor (146) in a hair clipper (120) has a stationary piece (118) and a moving piece (122). The stationary piece (118) has a primary leg (180) and at least one secondary leg (184). The primary leg (180) fits through an opening (212) in a coil (138). A flange (202) is then press fit onto the leg (180) so that the coil (138) is captured on the primary leg (180). The flange (202) provides a magnetic pole face (187) that is larger than the opening (212) in the coil (138), which increases the efficiency of the motor (146). The flange (200) is press fit in a single operation by pressing a primary prong (204) into a primary socket (202), and pressing two secondary prongs (206) into secondary sockets (208). The secondary prongs (206) are guided inwardly as they enter the secondary sockets (208), which closes the primary socket (202) around the primary prong (206). A drive arm (128) is secured to an arm (160) of the moving piece (122). The arm (160) is angled (315) in relation to the drive arm (128) to put even pressure on the moving blade (132) in the hair clipper (100). |
