Provided is a gateway device (1) for relaying frames between a diagnosis tool (2) and a plurality of control devices (30). The gateway device is adapted such that: when having received from the diagnosis tool a request frame indicating a broadcast to the plurality of control devices, the gateway device broadcasts the request frame to the plurality of control devices; and when having received response frames transmitted from the plurality of control devices in response to reception of the request frame, the gateway device causes a hold unit (10) to hold the received response frames, relays the response frames held by the hold unit to the diagnosis tool, and further transmits, to the control devices having transmitted the response frames, a wait instruction frame for instructing the control devices not to time out but to wait. |
