<p>A letterbox assembly having at least one flap and fits an aperture of a door or panel. In one disclosure the assembly has a pair of inner and outer flaps 12 & 14, they are mechanically linked so that when either flap is moved in open or closed directions, the other follows - linkage may be by means of rack and pinion gears and drive rods. Also disclosed is a means of biasing a flap to a normally closed position which may be achieved way of a torsion bar and spring. Another disclosure concerns a flap damping arrangement, which may be by way of an air damper (Fig 10, 100). A flap locking arrangement (Fig 3a, 3b) is described in yet another disclosure and a final disclosure indicates that a letter catching box (Fig 4, 90) may be attached to an assembly equipped with the necessary complimentary connection.</p> |
