PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake device with a simplified structure.SOLUTION: A brake device 1 includes: a back pressure chamber 30 provided at the back surface side of a first slave piston 57 of a tandem slave cylinder 51; a third piping tube 93 which allows the back pressure chamber 30 and a pressure chamber 21 of a single type master cylinder 10 to communicate with each other; and an on-off valve 94 which is provided at the third piping tube 93 and opens or closes the third piping tube 93.
