A display device includes a display panel and a backlight assembly including a light emitting diode package. The display panel receives transmitted light and displays an image. The light emitting diode package includes a light emitting diode, a housing, an insulating layer, and polarizing units. The light emitting diode emits light. The housing receives the light emitting diode. The insulating layer is disposed inside the housing and covers the light emitting diode. The polarizing units are disposed on the insulating layer and transmit or reflect the light. Therefore, the display device has improved light utilization efficiency. |
