PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traveling support system capable of supporting the traveling of a vehicle by performing the engine control of an own vehicle following engine control with high energy efficiency of the other vehicle.SOLUTION: A traveling support system includes: a control information transmission device for transmitting control information for controlling the operation of an engine 3 mounted on a vehicle; and an on-vehicle control device 2 installed in each of a plurality of vehicles for receiving the control information, and for controlling the operation of the engine 3. The on-vehicle control device 2 transmits control information for controlling the operation of the engine 3 in accordance with the accelerator operation of the vehicle by a driver, information related to the energy efficiency of the vehicle and the position information of the vehicle to a control information transmitter. The control information transmitter receives information transmitted from the on-vehicle control device 2, and stores the information in a storage part. The control information transmitter specifies the control information of the vehicle with energy efficiency satisfying a predetermined condition on the basis of the information stored in the storage part, and transmits the specified control information to the on-vehicle control device 2. |
