A corrosion resistance degradation sensor includes a conductive pipe having its inner surface covered with an anticorrosive coating, an electrode placed within a pipe line defined by the conductive pipe such that the electrode is in contact with a pipe line liquid and kept insulated from the conductive pipe, a resistor having its one end connected to the outer surface of the pipe, and an AC power supply having its one terminal connected to a terminal leading from the pipe, and its other terminal connected to a terminal leading from the electrode and the resistor. While preventing damage to the anticorrosive coating and the progress of corrosion of this coating due to factors associated with measurement, the sensor accurately removes the influence of the external environment, and accurately detects degradation of the anticorrosive coating based on a change in frequency dependence of impedance because the current flow path shifts due to degradation of the anticorrosive coating.
|
