PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION COMBINING AN ANTICONVULSANT AND A DERIVATE OF NICOTINIC ACID

Gabapentin and lysine clonixinate (CLG) can be combined to relieve neuropathic pain caused by both diabetic neuropathy and nerve injury. The CLG combination creates a synergy in the antiallodynic effect when the allodynia has been generated by direct mechanical damage to the nerve tissue or when it is the result of a diabetic pathology. The therapeutic effect of the CLG combination is 3 to 11 times greater than that of each of the drugs individually. The CLG combination is safe and has demonstrated no adverse effects on motor activity, alterations in neurological parameters or hepatic or renal damage.
