<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a record medium containing metadata which provide an extended search function utilizing various search keywords about moving image data, and to provide an apparatus and a method for reproducing data on the record medium. <P>SOLUTION: The record medium is characterized in that it contains: the moving image data; and the metadata which enable the extended search of the moving image data to be performed by scene by scene. Preferably, the metadata include an entry point and/or a reproducing duration and angle information. Thus, a search utilizing the various search keywords becomes possible, the reproducing apparatus can be controlled so that it reproduces the searched result in various scenarios, and a multiangle or multipath movie title can be supported.
