PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotor of an axial gap type motor, capable of holding a magnet in the rotor by a magnetic body and a shaft by the same magnetic body, and preventing the leakage of a magnetic flux of the magnet, and to provide an axial gap type motor equipped with the rotor. SOLUTION: A magnetic plate 12b of this rotor 12 holds a shaft by a third core portion 123 for short-circuiting a second core portion 122 provided in a magnetic pole boundary in the internal circumferential side. First and second gap portions 124a, 124b are formed between a first core portion 121 for covering the magnetic pole surface of the permanent magnet 12a and second and third core portions 122, 123. With this configuration, the shaft 13 is also held by the same magnetic plate 12b while holding the permanent magnet 12a in the rotor 12 by the magnetic plate 12b, and the leakage of magnetic flux of the permanent magnet 12a can be prevented.
