A communication system and a handshake method thereof are provided to reduce a load at a transmission path by generating a control signal having a repeater station authentication code and a mobile station authentication code. A communication system includes a base station(11), at least one repeater station(15), and a mobile station(13). The repeater station is located within the coverage of the mobile station. The mobile station is located within the coverage of the repeater station. The base station, the repeater station, and the mobile station are configured to have a service path through a hand shaking in response to a plurality of control signals. Each of control signals has authentication codes which are adapted to authenticate the completion of a corresponding control signal. At least one of the authentication codes has a repeater station authentication code and a mobile station authentication code.
