A modular jack having a shielding function is provided to form a shielding layer over a modular plug, a shield terminal, a PCB(Printed Circuit Board), a shield part and a cable to prevent electromagnetic interference and protect data transmitted through the cable. A modular jack(1) includes a housing(10), a PCB(20), a lower connecting block(30), a shield terminal(60), an upper connecting block, a shield case(50), and a shield part(80). The PCB includes an insert pin electrically connected to a modular plug(2), an IDC(Insulation Displacement Connection) terminal(22) connected to a cable(W) and a shield pattern(24) formed on the bottom face thereof. The lower connecting block is connected with the PCB, detachably combined with the housing and has a cable incoming path(36,56). The shield terminal is combined with the lower connecting block and connected to a shield plate(2a) of the modular plug and the shield pattern of the PCB. The upper connecting block is combined with the lower connecting block and connects the cable incoming through the cable incoming path to the IDC terminal of the PCB. The shield case are combined with the housing and the lower connecting block to cover the upper connecting block. The shield part is connected to the shield pattern of the PCB and a shielding layer of the cable. |
