PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal control device and a control method for a terminal device capable of reducing a burden when examining a trouble of the terminal device. SOLUTION: The terminal control device 100 includes: a failure detecting protection timer means (timer circuit 103); a control means (CPU 101) restarting the terminal device when the protection timer means (timer circuit 103) times out; and a nonvolatile storage means (storage circuit 102). The storage means (storage circuit 102) stores prescribed state information related to the terminal device in first timing to start the protection timer means (timer circuit 103) and in second timing when the protection timer means (timer circuit 103) times out.
