PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved system having an optical sensor, and a method.

SOLUTION: A specific embodiment includes a system and a method for providing an optical sensor for controlling combustion. An exemplary embodiment provides a method for controlling a combustion parameter relating to a gas turbine combustion chamber (102). The method includes the step of providing at least one optical path adjacent to a fire region (106) in the combustion chamber (102), the step of detecting at least a part of emission light from the fire region (106) in at least one optical path, and the step of controlling at least one of the combustion parameters at least partially based on the detected emission light.
