<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coin identifying apparatus that can determine diameters of coins more accurately as a first object, an inexpensive coin identifying apparatus that can determine diameters of coins more accurately as a second object, and a compact and inexpensive coin identifying apparatus that can determine diameters of coins more accurately as a third object. <P>SOLUTION: A coin identifying apparatus determines whether or not the diameter of a coin is authentic on the basis of the outputs of a first exciting coil and a second exciting coil respectively wound around a first ferrite core and a second ferrite core, both rectangular and respectively arranged upstream and downstream on a coin passage along which the coin rolls on, wherein the first ferrite core and the second ferrite core differ in length in a direction orthogonal to a guide rail, and the first ferrite core and the second ferrite core are formed into a single composite ferrite core body so that, by altering the fitting phase of the ferrite core body, appropriate end face lengths of ferrite cores for the coin diameter to be sorted can be obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
