SCALE SUPPRESSION METHOD AND GEOTHERMAL POWER GENERATION APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suppression method for scale containing calcium and silica and a geothermal power generation apparatus which can be operated economically while suppressing deposition of the scale.

SOLUTION: A geothermal power generation apparatus includes: piping through which geothermal water collected from a production well is circulated; a chelating agent supply section which supplies a chelating agent to the geothermal water circulating inside the piping; an alkali agent supply section which supplies an alkali agent to the geothermal water circulating inside the piping; a medicine mixing section which is provided at a downstream side from the chelating agent supply section and the alkali agent supply section in a piping route; a first detector which measures the inlet pressure of the medicine mixing section or an inlet-side fluid flowing velocity; and a second detector which measures the outlet pressure of the medicine mixing section or the outlet-side fluid flowing velocity. The chelating agent supply section is controlled to increase the amount of the chelating agent to be supplied when the difference between a value detected by the first detector and a value detected by the second detector exceeds a preset upper limit threshold value, and to supply the chelating agent for an increased supply amount until the difference of the detection values becomes less than a preset lower limit threshold value.
