The present invention suggests that a device and method transmits files recorded based on a certain container structure corresponding to certain content in a general purposed device and that a general-purposed device which received the file records the files in a designated position. For this, files corresponding to part or all of recorded files are read, a header including at least information about a directory to record the sequentially read files is formed, and the sequentially read files are transmitted to the general-purposed device with the formed header. The general-purposed device sequentially receives files corresponding to part or all of files corresponding to certain content and records the received files in a directory among directories located by a certain container structure based on control information included in an each header of the sequentially received files and some control information received with a metadata file.
