PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make processing simpler than before and to reduce the workload needed to change a shift pattern of a shift lever.SOLUTION: A shift position determination device includes: first position detection means of detecting a position of a shift lever mounted on a vehicle in a first direction; second position detection means of detecting a position of the shift lever in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction; and arithmetic means of determining a shift position in a shift pattern of the shift lever on the basis of detection results of the first position detection means and second position detection means. The arithmetic means determines a shift position of the shift lever by storing a mapping table having shift positions, based upon the shift pattern, mapped in a two-dimensional table and performing retrieval from the mapping table on the basis of the detection results of the first position detection means and second position detection means.
