Disclosed is a privacy protection method for a human body security inspection system, comprising the steps of: obtaining in real time scanning column or scanning row image data of a scanned person; based on the image obtained after the scanning column or scanning row image data has been processed, displaying in real time a body shape image and an outline image of the scanned person; sending the body shape image to a device-end monitor of the human body security inspection system to be displayed thereon, and displaying the outline image of the scanned person on a remote operation-end monitor of said system; based on the outline image, identifying suspicious objects; and, based on the suspicious objects identified in the outline image, displaying suspicious-object boxes accordingly on the body shape image. Also disclosed is a privacy-protecting human body security inspection system.
