PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet conveying apparatus and an image forming apparatus configured such that, even when an interval between sheets is short, a moving member can be moved from a passage state to a projection state before the next sheet is conveyed.SOLUTION: The sheet conveying device comprises a moving member 103 and a guide member. The moving member 103 is configured to move from a projection state in which abutment members 1031-1034 are pressed by a sheet conveyed by a first rotator pair 208 and project into a sheet conveying path, to a passage state in which the sheet is allowed to pass through the moving member 103. The guide member 109 is arranged upstream of a nip part of a second rotator pair 209 in a sheet conveying direction. The guide member 109 is movable to a first position in which the guide member guides the sheet toward the moving member 103 in a projection state and to a second position away from the moving member 103 more than the first position and turns to the second position while the sheet is conveyed by the second rotator pair 209. |
