PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid level detector capable of preventing detachment.SOLUTION: A liquid level detector for detecting a liquid level of a liquid stored in an oil pan, comprises: a body 20 that can be assembled to the oil pan and that includes a fitting circumferential wall 24 and a fitting hole 26; a cover 40 including an outer cylinder 44 fitted into the fitting circumferential wall 24 along a fitting direction WF and an inner shaft 46 fitted into the fitting hole 26 along the fitting direction WF on an inner circumference of the outer cylinder 44, the outer cylinder 44 and the inner shaft 46 being formed integrally; a float 50 floating on the liquid; and a lead switch 60 detecting a position of the float 50. The outer cylinder 44 includes an outer cylinder engagement portion 44a provided to be elastically deformable, and the body 20 includes a body engagement portion 30 provided to be engageable with the outer cylinder engagement portion 44a. A first position, a second position, and a third position P3 are set. At least either an outer cylinder fit distance SP or an inner shaft fit distance SS is larger than an engagement distance SE. |
