摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a disk drive device with which it is possible to reduce the face deflection of a rotating recording disk.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a disk drive device comprising a fixed body including a base and a shaft member extending in the axial direction and a rotary body having a sleeve for accommodating at least a portion of the shaft member and a placement surface on which a recording disk is placed and including a hub secured to the outer circumference of the sleeve, and supported rotatably relative to the fixed body, said method including: securing the hub to the outer circumference of the sleeve; cutting, while rotating the rotary body, the placement surface using a cutting tool that moves in the vertical direction relative to the revolving shaft of the rotary body in a state in which the hub is secured to the outer circumference of the sleeve; and accommodating the shaft member in the sleeve after the cutting work.
