The application pertains to the use of an alkoxylated fatty alcohol characterized by the general formula (I)
RO-(CH 2 CH 2 O) m (CH 2 CHR'-O) n -H (I)
wherein R stands for a saturated and/or unsaturated alkyl moiety, containing 12 to 22 C-Atoms, R' is a methyl-, ethyl- or propyl-group, m represents a number of 1 to 12, and preferably 4 to 10, n represents a number of 1 to 10, and preferably 2 to 8, as emulsifier in metal working fluids, containing at least water and one oily component, non-miscible with water, and optionally further ingredients common for metal working fluids. |
